How to cross list existing inventory?

Crosslist allows you to cross list your inventory between marketplaces using two different methods:

  1. Direct cross listing
  2. Importing and posting

Looking to list new inventory instead? Then please refer to this guide.

Direct cross listing lets you cross list your inventory directly from one marketplace to another, without the need for the Crosslist web application.

To accomplish this, Crosslist automatically injects action buttons into the listing overview and listing detail page of each marketplace:

Direct cross listing is the preferred approach if you want to list quickly on other marketplaces without making any modifications to your listings, such as adding images or changing the description.

Importing and posting, on the other hand, is designed to first import your listings into the Crosslist application, after which they can be posted on other marketplaces using the Crosslist web application.

Importing and posting is the preferred approach if you want to make modifications to your listings before cross listing on other marketplaces.

Some typical modifications include:

  • Adding, removing, or modifying images.
  • Shortening or lengthening the description.
  • Completing extra fields that are present on the marketplaces you want to list, such as tags.

Below, you can find step-by-step guides on how to cross list using both these approaches. In the examples, we will be cross listing from Mercari to Poshmark and Depop.

Direct cross listing

Step 1: Navigate to the listing overview

The first step is to navigate to the listing overview of the marketplace you want to cross list from. In our example, this is Mercari:

Step 2: Select the listings you want to cross list

Now, select the listings that you want to cross list to Poshmark and Depop. You can do this by clicking the tickbox present in each listing’s image:

Then, click the Crosslist 2 listings button. You can also select all visible listings using the Select all button.

Alternatively, you can also cross list directly from each listing’s detail page instead of the listing overview.

CONSIDERATIONS

On Facebook Marketplace, Crosslist currently only supports direct cross listing from each listing’s detail page. Cross listing from the listing overview is not available. If you want to cross list in bulk from Facebook Marketplace, we recommend using the importing and posting approach described below.

Step 3: Select the marketplaces on which you want to list

After clicking the Cross list product(s) button, Crosslist will open a pop-up where you can select the marketplaces on which you want to list.

Now, click on the Post button to begin cross listing your products.

After clicking the Post button, your browser will automatically open new tabs; one tab for each listing.

In these tabs, Crosslist will autopost your listings automatically in the background.

CONSIDERATIONS

When using direct cross listing, each listing is automatically imported into the Crosslist web application as well. Each import will consume one listing credit. Once a listing is imported into Crosslist, it can be relisted an infinite number of times without consuming listing credits.

Depending on the marketplace you are cross listing from, not all required product information will be available. In this case, you will need to manually add the required product information before Crosslist can autopost your listing. After adding the necessary product information, you can click the Post button again to autopost your listing.

Importing and posting

Step 1: Import your listings into Crosslist

The first step involves importing your listings into the web application. This can be done in two ways:

  1. Through the bulk import tool in the web application.
  2. From the listing overview or listing detail page

Bulk import tool

The bulk import tool is the quickest way to import a large amount of listings into the web application. With the bulk import tool, you can import up to 20 listings (10 for Vinted) simultaneously into Crosslist in a matter of seconds.

To do so, simply navigate to the listing overview in the web application and click the Import listings button at the top right of your screen:

Now, select the marketplace you want to import from. In our case, this is Mercari:

Crosslist will now automatically fetch and display all the active, unsold listings on that marketplace:

You can now select up to 20 listings to import at once into Crosslist (10 for Vinted). You can use the pagination at the bottom right of your screen to navigate through your inventory.

From the listing overview

Importing from the listing overview is designed for users looking to import specific listings into Crosslist rather than their full inventory. This is particularly useful because you can then use the built-in search engine of the marketplace you’re importing from.

This provides you with more flexibility to import your listings than with the bulk import tool, which is designed to import many listings simultaneously.

To get started, simply navigate to the listing overview of the marketplace you want to import from and select the listings you want to import:

Afterward, click the Import listings button to import your listings into the web application.

Alternatively, you can also import directly from the listing detail page:

Step 2: Post your listings

After importing your listings, you can now autopost them from within the web application.

Please refer to this article for more information with regards to autoposting from the web application.
